I hope what I'm trying to do is possible with views fast search, because it's a great module...
What I want to do is expose filters in a search form, like from this lullabot tutorial: http://www.lullabot.com/articles/custom_search_forms_views_and_fastsearc...
But the difference is, I want to add this search form in a block, like the standard core search block (which can be added to the sidebar, header, etc).
I already commented on an existing issue here: http://drupal.org/node/189531#comment-907501
Because a particular solution proposed to that issue (redirecting standard search form to views_fastsearch page) did not work for me.
But it seems my request goes beyond that issue (and maybe is not necessarily related as I thought) so I'm opening a new issue, for adding a views_fastsearch form in a block.
Is this possible? Even a recommendation on adding custom php code to a new block would be a great workaround...
